Bio: One of the major pivotal points of my life was moving to San Francisco in 1981.
Another came in 1986 when I moved to Developing Environments which made it possible in 1989 to start a fine arts and mural painting business, Ewing & Germano with my husband and fellow artist, Leo Germano.
In 2004, my focus changed radically upon the passing of my father. This event compounded with the devastation of Hurricane Katrina and the death of my mother in 2007 have been the catalysts for my on going series "Spirit Boats". Hope is painted or built in the loose form of a boat: a metaphor for a safe place for a individual's journey through life and space.

"Spirit Boat" paintings are layers of mixed media combining acrylic, latex, oil, powders, chalks and sometimes ink or gold leaf that I see as a meditation on a place where the boat is in the process of capturing a universal light.

Three dimensional boats are born of reconfigured plastic water or juice bottles or paper that I cover with a "skin" of paper and gel mediums that serves as the base for other natural or decorative elements. These unique pieces become an installation, forming a community which invites the viewer to participate.
