Bio: My work is about surface and what lies under, fully revealed, or semi-obscured, and how hidden moments never fully disappear.

I paint with encaustic (molten wax) because it allows me to explore process and revelation by scraping layers away to expose the past or by adding transparent layers that obscure once crisp, definite shapes.

Currently the Creative Director for Yoga Journal magazine, I have worked in the publishing field for 20 years. Starting at Runners World magazine I designed and art directed for such well-known titles as Redbook, Elle and Health.

I have been painting with encaustic since 2001. Paintings are in private collections in California, New York, Washington DC, and Rome, Italy as well as in the institutional collection of Cisco Systems, San Jose, California.
