California Road Trip
Am I alone in finding the Pacific Ocean and coast of California one of the most magical places on this beautiful planet of ours? As I mentioned in my last posting I spent a few months last summer at the beach in Cayucos on the Central Coast and w hen I returned I was far more grounded in what I want to paint (at least for now). I grew up on the southern coast of California and love all of those odd businesses that are on Highway 1/101. The tiny pieces were a big hit at Open Studios, thank you everyone for coming out and supporting. They also helped dislodge a little creative block, that's been gnawing at me for the past several months. I now know that feeling stuck is a part of how it goes for me, but this last round went on longer and felt more permanent than ever before (of course). I have tools to apply acceptance to most areas of my life, apparently my artistic process is left a little behind.

Open Studios is a rare opportunity to see the artists in their workspaces. It’s a viewer driven art tour where you can choose your adventure. From nudes to robots, clay pots to rooftops, you’ll find many different subjects inspire the artists in the Mission. You’ll see textile artists, pottery, painters, sculptors, jewelers, artists working with found objects, and many other mediums.
